What is YOUR Favorite Part?

Adopt-an-Animal Program

Is your favorite part of the ELC the Animals? Show your love and help support the rescued animals of the ELC by Adopting! Your monetary donation will go directly to the animals by helping to pay for food, medical care, and of course toys!

Each adoptee will receive a Certificate of Adoption and Photograph of the chosen animal with Species information and that animal's unique story. Options are available for individuals, students, schools and other organizations. At the highest adoption level, adoptees will get to go behind the scenes and spend time with their chosen animal!

Note: Participation in the Adopt-an-Animal Program does not grant any ownership rights to the adoptee. Animals may be temporarily off exhibit at any time. If the chosen animal leaves for any reason, the "adoption" will be transferred to another animal for the remainder of the adoption period.

Adopt-a-Garden Program

Individuals, families, and organizations are invited to get your hands dirty and show off their GREEN THUMBS by adopting one section of the Rooftop Gardens.

Gardeners choose their favorite garden and meet at least once a month to care for the chosen garden. Learn about the plants and animals in the gardens and how to care for them by removing weeds and trimming healthy plants.

All waste is composted for later use in the gardens. Participants are responsible for providing their own gardening supplies if desired. Participants may suggest changes to the content of the "adopted" garden to the Environmental Specialist, replacement plants will be provided by the ELC.

For more information, download the Adopt-a-Garden Brochure.
