Do One Thing at Highland's Fourth Annual Earth Day Celebration
Join us in celebrating Highland’s fourth Annual Earth Day Celebration on Friday, April 20, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm at the Sam J. Racadio Library and Environmental Learning Center located at 7863 Central Ave Highland, CA 92346.
Make your pledge to “Do One Thing” (DOT) for the Earth as you enjoy free education stations and interactive activities throughout the children’s library section and rooftop gardens.
Patrons are encouraged to participate in the recycling drive. For every 20 CRV items donated (aluminum cans or plastic bottles) you will receive a prize made from recycled plastic. All proceeds from the recycling drive to benefit the rescued animals of the Environmental Learning Center (ELC).
Don’t leave without stopping by the Courtyard to make your own Earth Day tote bag. You buy the tote bag and we provide all the supplies you need make a memorable keepsake.
This year the celebration will wrap-up with a special presentation, a Teen Eco-Poetry Slam. Young adults will showcase their DOT’s at the Teen Eco-Poetry Slam in the Courtyard at 4:30pm.
