From the iguana and cichlids to the chinchilla and love birds, the animals of the Environmental Learning Center each have a story to tell! Most of the over 40 species in the ELC are rescued animals.
Why do we have live animals on display? The animals are much more than a simple display. The ELC strives to give each individual the proper environment and care they require while allowing the animals to teach the public about RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP, and SPECIES AND HABITAT CONSERVATION.
Come visit the animals anytime during regualr library hours! Each animal has a story to tell and ELC staff are always available to answer any questions.
Be sure to check out Critter Tyke Explorers and Teen Animal Ambassadors every Friday for a up-close and personal program all about our animal friends.
